
Meeting to prepare the self-assessment report and improvement plan
The Central Committee for the Preparation of the Self-Report and Improvement Plan within the Program Accreditation Requirements at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences – Anbar University held its expanded meeting on Tuesday morning (9/16/2025), chaired by Prof. Dr. Labib Zouyan Masikh, Dean of the College and Chairman of the Central Committee, and attended by the members of the Central Committee and the chairmen and members of the subcommittees.
The Dean opened the meeting with a welcome speech in which he emphasized the great importance of this strategic project as a fundamental step towards improving the quality of education and meeting academic accreditation requirements, noting that the preparation of the self-assessment report and improvement plan represent a practical roadmap for developing study programs and raising their efficiency in line with with national and international quality standards.
The participants discussed the main themes of the self-assessment report, which included:
1. The vision, mission, and objectives, and their clarity and consistency with the university's mission.
2. The academic program, learning outcomes, and mechanisms for measuring and achieving them.
3. Human resources, including faculty and staff, their competence and distribution.
4. Infrastructure and educational resources, including classrooms, laboratories, and equipment.
5. Research activities and community service and their role in enhancing the college's standing.
6. Mechanisms for monitoring, evaluation, and continuous quality assurance.
The improvement plan was also discussed, which includes corrective and developmental measures to be implemented during the next phase, with the identification of priorities, the distribution of tasks among subcommittees, and the establishment of timetables for implementation.
At the end of the meeting, the Dean emphasized the need to join forces and work as a team to complete the report in accordance with the required standards, praising the efforts made by the members of the subcommittees and stressing that the success of this project will have a direct impact on raising the level of academic and administrative performance and enhance the college's position among physical education and sports science colleges in Iraq.
The meeting concluded with the distribution of tasks among the subcommittees and the setting of a date for the next meeting to follow up on progress and discuss developments.
