 The Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Sciences Council holds its first meeting for the academic year 2025–2026

 

The Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Sciences Council held its first meeting for the academic year (2025-2026), chaired by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Labib Zouyan Masikh, and attended by all members of the Council. This session comes within the framework of the start of a new academic year in which the faculty seeks to consolidate academic quality standards and strengthen its position among its counterparts through its strategic plans and educational and research programs.

The Dean opened the meeting with a speech in which he welcomed the members of the Council, emphasizing the importance of cooperation and coordination between all academic parties to achieve the College's desired goals. He also gave a special welcome to the heads of the theoretical and applied departments, wishing them success in developing academic and administrative work within the college, considering their presence at this meeting an important step towards strengthening institutional integration and achieving the scientific development goals of the departments.

In his speech, the Dean emphasized that the new academic year represents an important stage in improving the educational and training reality, especially in light of the developments in the field of physical education and sports science at the local and international levels. He also called for intensifying efforts to raise the level of university performance through the integration of theoretical and practical aspects in the educational process.

 

The Council discussed a number of key issues and topics that would support the academic progress of the college, most notably:

1. Monitoring students and their academic affairs, with a focus on overcoming the obstacles they may face and providing an educational environment that encourages excellence and creativity.

2. Ensuring the regularity of theoretical and practical lectures from the beginning of the academic year, guaranteeing that teaching staff adhere to the prescribed curricula, and taking into account standards of competence and effectiveness in delivering scientific material.

3. Develop the educational process by integrating modern methods and techniques that keep pace with technological developments, particularly the use of interactive smart screens in classrooms, thereby providing greater opportunities for interaction between teachers and students, enhancing active learning skills, and making lectures more interesting and effective.

4. Developing teaching performance by adopting modern educational strategies and encouraging serious scientific research capable of addressing relevant mathematical and educational issues.

5. Digital transformation, emphasizing the importance of integrating modern technologies into the educational and administrative process and activating electronic platforms for education and academic communication.

At the end of the session, the Dean emphasized that the College Dean's Office will continue to support all initiatives and projects aimed at strengthening the academic and administrative structure, noting that the College is continuing its strategic vision of preparing a generation of graduates who possess scientific competence, skills, and the ability to keep pace with the requirements of the labor market, as well as actively contributing to serving the sports and academic community.
