The College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences organizes an educational seminar on the dangers of drugs in cooperation with the Directorate of Combating Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances in Anbar Governorate
On Monday, 3/2/2025, the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences organized an educational seminar under the title “Staying away from the scourge of drugs and the serious damage they cause to society” as part of the ongoing efforts to spread awareness and promote the culture of prevention of this dangerous scourge among young people.
The seminar was attended by the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Labib Zuwayan Musaikh, assistants and a number of professors and students. The seminar addressed the types of drugs and their negative effects on physical and psychological health, in addition to their devastating social and economic effects. Representatives of the Directorate of Combating Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances also reviewed the efforts made to combat the spread of drugs, stressing the importance of the role of educational institutions in awareness and education.
The Dean of the College emphasized that this seminar comes as part of a series of events aimed at educating youth on the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle, noting the role of sports as an effective way to protect individuals from the dangers of addiction.
The seminar witnessed great interaction by the students, who raised many questions and inquiries about effective ways to prevent drugs, and how to report suspected cases of drug use or trafficking.
At the conclusion of the seminar, the participants expressed their thanks to the college administration and the Anti-Narcotics Directorate for this awareness initiative, stressing the need to continue such events to spread awareness and promote positive behaviors among young people.
