The College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at Anbar University Organizes a Tree-Planting Campaign to Mark National Tree-Planting Day
In accordance with the directives of the President of Anbar University, Prof. Dr. Mushtaq Talib al-Nada, and under the supervision of the Vice President for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Abdulbasit Jassim Mohammed, the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences – Anbar University organized National Tree Planting Day activities as part of efforts to promote environmental awareness and increase green spaces on campus.
The event was attended by the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Labib Zouyan Musaykh, along with a number of the college’s faculty members, staff, and students. A tree-planting campaign was carried out in the college’s corridors and gardens, during which a number of trees and saplings were planted, contributing to the improvement of the university environment and creating an aesthetic appearance that reflects a commitment to green spaces.
This initiative is part of the university’s efforts to support environmental sustainability and instill a culture of environmental conservation among students, as well as to promote community participation in initiatives aimed at improving environmental quality and reducing the effects of pollution.
As part of the accompanying activities, the college organized an awareness workshop titled “Afforestation… Environmental Sustainability and a Clean, Green Life,” delivered by agricultural engineer Mustafa Nihad Khalil, in which he briefly discussed the importance of afforestation and its role in preserving the environment and improving air quality.
At the conclusion of the event, the Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences – Anbar University, Prof. Dr. Labib Zouyan Musaykh, that holding such environmental activities contributes to instilling a culture of environmental awareness among students and university staff, noting that increasing green spaces on campus represents an important step toward providing a healthy and sustainable educational environment.
He also praised the efforts of the faculty, staff, and students who participated in this event, affirming that Anbar University remains committed to supporting environmental initiatives that promote the concept of a green university and contribute to serving the community and preserving the environment for future generations.
